Madeira Silverwood Presbyterian Church is launching three new bible studies this fall. Our continued growing knowledge of scripture is essential because it allows us to deepen our understanding of God's character and His will for our lives. It also provides a foundation for making informed decisions based on His teachings, ultimately leading to a closer relationship with God through a deeper personal connection to His word; essentially, the more we study scripture, the better equipped we are to live a life aligned with God's plan.
The first is The Most Extraordinary Life: Discovering the Real Jesus, a 15-week study that draws on ancient history, Middle Eastern culture, and the latest archaeological discoveries to equip us to follow Jesus and carry out His will by grappling with the question of who Jesus was. Please join Brian and Sandy Thompson on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Fireside Room. Please see Brian or Sandy Thompson or sign up using a Connect Card or the Contact Us form on this site. The books are $20 each.
Next is The Letters of Paul, a new Thursday class running through May. This chronological survey of Paul’s life includes his conversion, ministry, letters, missionary journeys, imprisonment, and eventual execution. This class will cover all of the Apostle Paul’s letters from Galatians (50 A.D.) through 2 Timothy (67 A.D.). If interested, please see Brian Thompson or sign up using a Connect Card or the Contact Us form on this site.
Finally, Tammy Smith is starting a women’s Abide group at her home beginning October 28. Tammy will lead a 90-day devotional on the book of John designed to help you listen for the voice of our Lord, feel the nudge of the Holy Spirit, and respond with a step of faith. The group will meet Mondays at 11 a.m. If interested, please call or text Tammy directly at 513-612-8323 or the Contact Us form on this site.
If you are not involved in any bible study or small group, we urge you to consider joining one or more of these classes.
“I have not departed from your laws, for you yourself have taught me. How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore, I hate every wrong path. Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” - Psalm 119:102-105
