Madeira-Silverwood Presbyterian Church is excited to partner again with the DownTowne Listening Room to present Nashville Music Night on Saturday, April 26, at 7 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm). This event will feature the music of Rob Harris and Marcia Ramirez.
DownTowne Listening Room is a pop-up music series featuring national and local acts playing live original folk, pop, rock, and Americana music in a quiet ‘listening room’ or 'house concert' setting. This series is invitation-based, so if you are interested in attending, please click the button below to submit your invite request. There is no cost, but we are asking for a donation. 100% of the proceeds will support the artists and their teams.
Rob Harris: Nashville-based singer-songwriter Rob Harris crafts songs that feel like home—relatable and unforgettable stories of life, love, and laughter. His songwriting credits include co-writing two Top-10 singles and earning a GOLD certification for "Greasy John Deere Cap" on Tim Hicks' album Throw Down. His songs have been recorded by The Lovelocks, Ivan Parker, Karen Peck, Marcia Ramirez, and many more. Garth Brooks once praised Rob's "How to Bend," calling it "a beautiful sentiment, a timeless message, and a great song."
Whether leading worship at events nationwide for over 40 years or playing intimate shows filled with classic covers—from Tom Petty and The Beatles to U2 and Foo Fighters—he brings warmth and versatility to every performance. His set list is as eclectic as it is timeless.
Marcia Ramirez: Marcia is an in-demand performer and has played at many venues nationwide, such as the world-famous "Bluebird Cafe" in Nashville, TN. Marcia is a multi-instrumentalist and one of Nashville's busiest session singers. Marcia has 5 solo albums. Her song, "God and My Girlfriends," is currently on Reba McEntire's new CD, "Sing It Now: Songs of Faith and Hope", and her song "You Belong In The Sun" is on Jo Dee Messina's Greatest Hits, garnering Marcia her first Gold Record.
In 2017, Marcia felt called by God to start a new kind of women's ministry that encourages diversity and serves women of all faiths and beliefs. Together with her childhood friend, Lisa Schmitz, Marcia started "God and My Girlfriends Ministries".
That evening, we will also collect canned food items for the NEEDS pantry. The NEEDS provides thousands of our neighbors with basic emergency assistance each year.
We at MSPC believe that music can be God's instrument to bring hope to the hurting heart. So we are excited to host this concert and hope to see you there. Tell a friend.
