Deacon Holiday Food Baskets

Our Board of Deacons leads us in serving our surrounding community by providing holiday food baskets for families at Thanksgiving and Christmas. We are preparing for this year's Holiday Food Basket campaign.

Here's how it works: we give priority to church families and families recommended by church members. We will also provide food for a limited number of families recommended by the schools in the Madeira, Deer Park and Hartwell communities. If you are a church member and you know a family in need of assistance, please submit your nominations to the church office.

Due to resource limitations, we are only accepting referrals from church members and our partners in the schools. We are not able to help with direct requests from the community at this time. If you are looking for holiday assistance, please visit our ministry partners at NEEDS (NorthEast Emergency Distribution Services),

To personalize each food gift, we will contact each identified family and give them a list of foods from which they can select a wide variety of items. Our Deacon board will order the food, sort and package it, and organize distribution of the food.

The Deacons need your help with this important ministry of showing Christ's love to the community.

Donate: We need your financial contributions to make this ministry happen. You can donate to this fund online right now (please indicate "Deacon Holiday Food Baskets" in the memo field).

Serve: Our Deacons need your help in sorting and packing the food we have ordered for the families. If you are interested in helping during either of these dates, please contact our church office and we will have a Deacon contact you about participating.

Thanksgiving: We will be sorting and packing food on Tuesday November 14 and Wednesday November 15.

Christmas: We will be sorting and packing food on Monday December 18 and Tuesday December 19.

Pray: Pray for God's special blessing upon all the families who will receive food from this ministry this year. We invite you to pray along with us: "Lord, as we enter the holiday season, help us to be your hands as we gather food for families in need. Bless this ministry and all who contribute and those who receive."

"If you give some of your own food to those who are hungry and satisfy those who are humble, then your light will rise in the dark, and your darkness will become as bright as the noonday sun." Isaiah 58:10
