Jesus calls us to follow Him. He teaches us to pray to the Father "May Your kingdom come, may Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
As you draw closer to Jesus, He teaches you your distinctive part in making His kingdom come. He gives you greater clarity about the particular people you are called to bless and teach about the kingdom. This clarity is what we mean by the term "missional focus." Jesus teaches you your personal missional focus. Every church congregation consists of people who feel called to follow Jesus together in a shared missional focus.
Called to Serve, our April sermon series, will take you on an exploration of our congregation's missional focus. If you haven't been to worship in a while, now is a great time to come and learn more about where our church community is going! Through lots of prayer and reflection, our Elemental Church strategic planning group has identified three groups of people we believe God is calling us to focus on reaching: families, people seeking personal growth, and people seeking emotional support. (Learn more about the work of our Elemental Church process in our Fall Elemental Church teaching series)
