Abide: Dwelling with Christ in the Rhythms of Life (Sunday Worship December 31 - February 4)

Did you know that the average American spends seven hours looking at a screen each day? That's over a quarter of our lives!

No wonder we feel stressed, distracted, and disconnected from God and ourselves. But what if there was a better way to live? A way that would help us find more focus, insight, and clarity in our lives. A way that would help us hear from God more clearly and follow His will more faithfully. A way that Jesus taught and modeled for us: Abiding in Him.

You don't want to miss our first 2024 Sunday sermon series: Abide: Dwelling with Christ in the Rhythms of Life. Jesus taught his disciples: "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me." (John 15:4, English Standard Version). Through this series, we'll learn to practice the rhythms of life that Jesus practiced and to slow down and pay attention to what God is saying to us.

Plan to be here for each of these life-shaping worship services:

  • December 31: Abide in Christ’s Love (John 15:1-17). In this message we will introduce the concept of abiding in Christ by giving Him your undivided attention and listening for His instruction and challenge. Note: this Sunday we will have one worship service at 10:00 AM

  • January 7: In The Morning When I Rise (Psalm 119:145-152). Jesus modeled a practice of daily prayer. Learn how to start your day by spending 15-25 minutes with God so you can better receive His power, wisdom, and love.

  • January 14: God’s Living Word (Hebrews 4:12-16). God speaks through the scriptures in powerful ways. You'll learn how to use the practice of Lectio Divina to listen for God's word to you through the scriptures.

  • January 21: The Sabbath Was Made for Man (Mark 2:23-3:6). In this message, you'll learn what the Sabbath is, why it’s important, and how to observe it in a way that honors God and refreshes your soul.

  • January 28: Go On Retreat To Advance In Faith (Matthew 16:13-20). Sometimes, you need to get away from your regular context in order to advance to a new level in your faith. We'll talk about how Jesus practiced retreat, and how you can practice it today.

  • February 4: Abiding Through The Seasons Of Life (Ecclesiastes 3:1-14). As you practice daily and weekly rhythms of abiding with Christ, you will begin to see the beauty in all the seasons of our lives.

Kick off 2024 with new practices of abiding with Christ! Join us for each of these encouraging and enlightening worship services (unless otherwise noted, each Sunday will have worship services at 9:00 and 11:00 AM).
